Schools have been closed for just over two months in Kenya, leaving children in Kibera with a lot of extra free time. We have spoken often about the challenges of adhering to widely recommended public health measures such as staying at home and social distancing in an environment like Kibera, where homes are close together and one or two rooms each.
Uweza photography course graduate and now freelance photographer Mufadhal Taib Jee walked around the community to document how children are spending their time. Both he and we continue to urge everyone to wear masks, follow social distancing recommendations and stay home as much as possible in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
