Uweza Foundation seeks to empower children and youth to pursue a better future through the discovery and development of their talents and abilities. Our community-based programs are designed and implemented in Kibera and we believe that despite the hardships of life in this community, the abundant resilience, creativity and resourcefulness will drive sustainable change.
As part of our goal to create leaders and change makers for a lasting tomorrow, we are launching an exciting children’s book project and looking for an outstanding short story.
If you are:
- A budding and unpublished author who grew up in Kibera
- A Kenyan citizen, between the ages of 19 and 35 years
- Able to write a story of hope from Kibera that you believe in and that only you can tell
